How often should I replenish my skincare products?

Why the worst thing you could do while clearing Adult Acne is let yourself run out of product.

I hope it doesn’t seem like I’m repeating myself.  :)  This is really just a follow-up to a previous post where I talk about how much of each product you should use at a time.

I started it out with a conundrum I often experience when facial clients check in, where we don’t see as much progress in their acne clearing as I think we should.  I take a look at when they last purchased.  I know approximately how long each type of product should last when it's used properly (which I will go over a little later), so if it’s been a while, it's not always the case that they’ve stopped buying their products and let their skincare go; often the client has either stretched the products out for budget reasons, or stretched them out figuring they have an upcoming appointment so why not wait. 

The truth is, using too little of each product renders them almost useless.

Always remember, products of quality are dose dependent!  Laboratory testing measures performance in specific amounts.

If you don’t use enough of each one, you won't get nearly the full benefit of their features, which means you may as well have thrown your money away. 

It also happens that some people simply skip their morning or evening routines.  This, of course, can also slow progress, but at least it’s not a mystery.  Instead of scolding, I’d rather find a way to simplify and streamline their routine so that it’s easier for them to stick with our program.

So now that we’ve established a new routine of using products correctly with the correct amountsof each, we also want to make sure you don’t run out of your products, which is the subject of this post.  This may seem like a no brainer; I swear, I’m not just filling up blog space so I have something to publish! lol :)  This really is key.

There are a few things to take into account to ensure you have all your necessary products on hand.

• At this time, I work alone.  I’m hoping this will change in a few months, but in the meantime, I’m putting the orders together, and I’m dropping them off at the post office.  At the time of this writing, I am not feeling well.  Orders from 2 days ago, sadly, are going out tomorrow, providing I'm well.  Normally I send out that day, or the latest the next day.  Now orders will take a day or two more to get to my clients.  Someone ordering three days ago could be out of product by the time they get their order.  Not good.  Oh, and I forgot to mention holidays, so there's that.

• About two months ago, the manufacturer of one of my products ran out of a key ingredient, necessitating a back order of that product - anyone who waited to order until they were totally out of that product was out for quite a while, compromising their acne clearing.

• And then there’s the obvious - what if you forget for a few days to reorder?  Then you’ve run out by the time you finally get a chance to get to your computer or tablet.

• I’d like to repeat - there is no need to wait until your facial or waxing appointment to replenish your product, whether it’s because you’re not sure you need to get the same things, or because you’re going anyway so why not.  This is exactly why I have an email address and web store!
